Auli- snow, cold, sking, cablecar, hiking, majestic views, thrill rides, horse ride, minus temperature....all that one is looking from a hill station. Planning in advance is the key to this superb location. Mind it thr road from Joshimath to Auli is only for brave and experts.

I visited on 4th Nov. The weather was perfect. There is a ropeway from Joshimath to Auli, which is 14kms. There are only 300 tickets per day sold, for which people stand in d Q from 3am. So, wud b better to take the car to the top, only challenge are d narrow roads & army trucks blocking d way. Once u reach d top, u May choose to stay there(expensive) or stay in Joshimath. The view is spectacular, u can c d Himalayas & d highest peak Nanda devi. To buy d ticket , u hv to climb 35-40 steps. There is a Chair lift from 8-5pm, U cud take 1 way & return trekking down or use d tubes, where d local guys will help, it’s fun to try that. U cud also try skying.
